The child was taken in by the King as his adopted son without the consent of anyone from the royal household. They were all taken by surprise by his decision, yet no one dared to question him. All they were told was that the boy possessed remarkable potential to succeed him to the throne. Such brazen declaration did not sit too well with his other sons especially when they had more rights to the throne than this... malfeasance at their doorstep.
Leading this motley crew of disenchanted princes was Hijau Tertituar, the first in line. He was the bravest of them all, oft seen leading an army through the winding haunted Forest Of Yam for the Teepull elixir, a magic potion of great power, and returning with but a minor chink in his armor. His eagerness to ascend the throne was well known. As the rightful heir, he exudes a cantankerous hubris that was beloved by none, least of all by the King.

Hijau Tertituar
The other princes, Pocong Telurbasah, Hitam Legamtul, Perak Tukarkalerla, and Arbi Terti, were all under the control of Hijau Tertituar through his evil enchantress, Breadegg Yamyam, who uses the Teepull elixir to control their minds. So, it was no surprise that they treated their new brother from a different mother with utter disdain and hatred.
The King, sensing the lack of congeniality among his brood, lavished his bastard child with all the love that a bastard child deserves, while keeping close to his heart the true identity of his transgression byproduct. He raised the bastard as the titular crown prince for no apparent reason than to spite his first born, who had been a thorn in his royal butt for years now.
Hijau Tertituar's many excursions to the Forest of Yam had cost the kingdom many a knight, leaving it with a weak defense against the barbarians of Tayip Ar. As a result of the ensuing caravan raids and robberies, prices of goods, like sugar and the kingdom's official Ale -the Ron Smilan Tjuh - had gone up causing all the subjects to suffer from bad tasting food and sobriety. Taking into account personal and property safety, it was just a matter of time before the subjects will rise against the King and demand for his blood.
That was why the King had to protect his illegitimate offspring from the clutches of his half brothers and to ensure that enough time will pass for him to fulfill his potential and to, finally, challenge Hijau Tertituar for the throne of Jiti Ar.
